At the heart of every long-lived mechanical structure is the escapement—the device that regulates the release of energy. In our workshop, we construct original deadbeat escapement wheels, hand-profiled from high-grade bell bronze.

The palette arms that arrest the wheel are tipped with micro-polished, synthetic sapphire pads, aligned to sub-micron angles under direct magnification. By minimizing friction at the point of contact, we ensure that energy from suspended weights is transferred with absolute consistency. The rhythmic, silent pulsing of our escapement cores forms the unyielding heartbeat of every OMACHINES commission.
